Vocalist MsIrene Renee

Once again, it's time for FB Diva Friday Chronicles and I'm certainly thrilled and honored to have the participation of this amazing vocalist, MsIrene Renee.

Chronicles: Hello MsIrene!! It's just been recently that I became acquainted with your music when a recording was forwarded to me through the FB message center. I IMMEDIATELY became a fan of your rich, clear vocals that have so much passion. Please give us a bio synopsis of your background? 

MsIrene: I'm originally from the Motor City (Detroit, Michigan). The last of 6 children.  Graduated from Cass

Technical High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Packaging Engineering from Michigan State University, then went on to study Psychology at the Graduate Level at Walden University. Pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at the undergraduate level from MSU.
Currently working dually as an Independent Artist and Adult Education Teacher in NY. Proud mom of one son. Independently released my debut album entitled, "Serendipitous Experience" in September 2013 where it reached the top 10 on the UK Soul Charts. Subsequently, released 3 music videos which can be found on Youtube and Footprint.tv. 

Chronicles: At what point of your life did you realize that you had a special singing ability and how was that ability nurtured as a child or teen into adulthood?

MsIrene:  I can't say that I discovered I had a 'special' singing ability. I just had a deep desire to sing. My earliest

recollection of singing in public didn't actually happen because I got stage fright and chickened out, leaving my sister to fend for herself for our Easter Sunday performance in church, lol. However, from then on I stayed in some type of choir or group, eventually getting solo performances here and there ect. but all along, I struggled to find my voice. Again, because of the deep desire to sing, I stuck with it and eventually my sultry, alto voice emerged.

Chronicles:  I've seen some of your videos and really enjoy your music. How long have you been performing professionally and what are you current projects? 

MsIrene:  I've been singing professionally for quite some time, off and on for about 15 years. I took several years off right after the birth of my son, but the desire never died so I had to quickly concoct a plan to immerse myself back in the game. I soon realized that the independent route would suit me better than pursuing and waiting on a traditional record company to sign me. I started the process once, but got side tracked with life (chickened out lol), but got serious in 2012, built and executed my plan to release my debut album in 2013. The first single with music video is called "Feelin' Good" (youtube) the follow up single is entitled, "Pick Up the Phone", and most recently I released the music video to my song "Smooth Step", which is exclusively on Footprint.tv. I am working with Footprint.tv

on a Smooth Step video sequel which will feature music and dance lovers who submit a video of them doing the Smooth Step to ms.irenerenee@gmail.com by May 31, 2015 [Extended until the end of July]. If interested, the Smooth Step Dance tutorial video can be found on my Ms. Irene Renee Youtube page and my Facebook Music Page. Last but not least, I am also in the process of producing my sophomore album. The release date is tbd. Stay tuned.

 Chronicles: Thanks so much MsIrene. Now the acronym "Diva" stands for "Divinely Inspired, Victoriously Ascending". Please share what those two phrases mean to you? 

MsIrene: The 'Divinely Inspired' statement simply means to me that our Divine Creator has endowed us with creative

thoughts and/or ideas to help us in life if we choose to use and or pursue them. 'Victoriously Ascending' means that whatever station you are in life, you are prospering in whatever endeavor you've taken on and getting closer to the goal.
